The center mainly carries out the research and development and application of the comprehensive restoration technology and assessment of coral reef ecosystem, the new Marine ecological whole region tourism complex and the seawater aquarium system engineering. Coral reef conservation center of guangdong province, established in 2016, is currently China's only "coral reef and Marine life rescue base", and become one of the "aquatic wildlife rescue base of Guangdong province" and  one of the "national Marine base of rare and endangered wildlife rescue", approved national only license of China certificate aquatic wildlifeand and the domestication and breeding license of aquatic wild animals of the People's Republic of China.

Conservation center is located in Shenzhen Dapeng JiaoChangwei Linhai Experimental Base, with 8000 m2 for research and development of coral and coral reefs in artificial breeding economic varieties breeding base of coral conservation, with coral reefs census, rescue, protection and restoration research, for the purpose of reef investigation and monitoring, ecological restoration, coral transplantation, artificial breeding, genetic diversity, disease control, such as technology research, and collaboration mechanism of coral reef symbiotic microbes, ecological protection, such as rare Marine cultivation technology research.
